Membership Criteria
Consideration for membership in The Society is granted to all past, as well as current, members of Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals’ Medical Staff.
A physician must have reached his or her 55th birthday or have 25 years of service during, or prior to, the year of induction into The Society.
A physician must have served in an outstanding capacity at Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals. The nominee must have been a member of the active Medical Staff at some point in his or her career. The involvement of the candidate in patient care, research and community activities should be of the highest caliber.
Posthumous selection is permitted, in which case the age requirement set forth previously may be waived provided all other criteria are met.
Nominees can be considered for selection two consecutive years, but must be nominated again to be considered after this time. Generally, a maximum of two candidates per year will be selected for Society membership, and there may be some years when no candidates are selected. All decisions of the Selection Committee will be deemed final.
