NURSING SCHOLORSHIPS |
Donations for Nursing Scholorships will help us find, train and encourage new nurses during a time of nationwide nursing shortages, and help to ensure continued quality health care for patients at Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals.
PROVIDENCE HEART INSTITUTE |
Donations for the Heart Institute will be used to enhance the state-of-the-art services provided to our cardiac patients.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS |
The following needs have been identified as top priorities that need community support. All of these renovations will help us address the delivery of health care to our patients.
- Fourth Floor Renovations: The fourth floor of the hospital was not renovated when we constructed a $30 million expansion to the Providence Heart Institute. Updating this floor will cost approximately $100,000.
- Emergency Room Renovations: The renovations for this area will cost approximately $40,000. As our emergency room census continues to grow, we are constantly striving to improve our facilities to meet the needs of those who need emergent care. This involves continually updating our ER facility.

PROVIDENCE PRAYER GARDEN |
In the late 1930s, James and Flora Younginer were instrumental in the establishment of Providence Hospital. Their only child, George, followed their example as a strong supporter of our mission and work. After George Younginer’s death in 2001, his four sons honored the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine with the Providence Prayer Garden, a peaceful space on the downtown campus for prayer, reflection and healing.
You may donate to the Providence Prayer Garden with a contribution of an engraved walkway paver ($50 donation) in honor or memory of a loved one. Donations in any amount are welcome for the Prayer Garden. Please call the Development Office at (803) 256-6566 for more information. You can also download this printable form and mail it to us with your contribution.
